Iconic New Zealand outdoor brand, Kathmandu, continues to explore how it can incorporate recycled materials into products. As part of its Outdoor Active range, the Women's Seeker Lined 4" Shorts pack a punch crafted from three innovative technologies: carbon capture, advanced recycling, and a bio-based anti-odour finish.

The Women’s Seeker Lined 4” Shorts main fabric features performance-focused, four-way stretch polyester, made with LanzaTech's carbon recycling technology. LanzaTech’s technology captures carbon emissions from steel mills before they enter the atmosphere, converting them into ethanol using fermentation by bacteria. The ethanol is converted into a chemical used to make polyester.

A secondary fabric used to make the shorts is Q-Cycle by Fulgar: a nylon made from recycled plastic waste, including end-of-life car tires.

The citric acid-based Ionic+® Botanical finish eliminates odours.
